Tracers - Comfortable Barefoot Shoes

My husband recently purchased a pair of Men's Barefoot Running Shoes, and they have completely transformed his gym experience. These are great shoes! I am NOT a trail runner nor do I hike often. However I cannot stand traditional hiking shoes. Look, weight, comfort and cost for a good pair, especially since I may hike once a year.

I picked these up because of the price and look specifically for my once a year camping trip where I knew I'd be on at least one hike.

I am as close to a true size 11 and ordered 11's. They fit like a glove, in a good way. They have a bit of compression or maybe should say that they wrap feet with nice pressure all around..First walk was on the hike which was about 2-miles over dirt, rock, gravel and pavement sections. The hike was pretty tough, but my feet did not hurt afterwards. They felt great and better than expected.

I now wear these most days of the week,.with jean, khakis and shorts and even have had them at the beach.

CON: These this can be very slippery on wet surfaces. Others stated this and glad that I took note because it is true. However, I feel that over time this has lessened to an extent.

Grip!! Funny to follow up with 'these things grip!' They do and do it very well on dry surfaces.

Would I buy again? Yes.

I had fairly low expectations for these shoes, but they turned out to be everything I wanted.
The soles are very light and flexible, with just enough thickness to protect your feet from sharp edges. When walking on gravel or pebbled surfaces you can feel every grain and stone under your feet, but without any discomfort. They are also surprisingly good on slick surfaces. I found it's best to lace the shoes looser than usual and treat these as slippers. I never lace and unlace these shoes when I wear them, instead using them as slip-ons.
My only real complaint is that the insulation and water proofing is quite poor. Your toes will instantly feel any chill in the air and your feet will get wet walking in wet conditions.

I couldn't be more pleased with a shoe purchase. I like the looks for these from the first ad I saw on fb, and the price was great, so I decided to give them a try. The size 10 fits great. They are so comfortable that I'm wearing them right now, sitting at my desk working on a PowerPoint presentation. But I've also worn them to the restaurant and to walk the dog. What makes me so enthused about them is that you can adjust the laces for a snug fit but, because of the elasticity in the heel, put them on or take them off without undoing the laces. I bought a brown pair initially, but they fit so perfectly that I went back and bought a black pair. I'll wear them for workouts, with my jeans, and with my slacks for business meetings. They look great!
